EVENT DESCRIPTION

In honor of Black Maternal Health Week in April, MelanIN Medicine presents Beyond the Clock: Black Women, Aging, and Reproductive Health, a virtual discussion designed to explore the realities of reproductive health for Black women.

This conversation will center on the unique experiences of Black women navigating advanced maternal age (35 years or older), fertility preservation, and assisted reproductive technologies like IVF and egg freezing. Our expert speakers will discuss various aspects of these journeys, while also recognizing upstream factors affecting maternal health outcomes.

In addition to engaging discussions, this event will feature a spoken word performance that highlights the depth and beauty of Black motherhood. We will also hear a powerful testimony from community member Isabel Viciere, School & Mental Health Counselor, who will share her personal storytelling journey to motherhood.

Whether you’re considering motherhood later in life, curious about egg freezing, or advocating for better Black maternal health…
